Wildcats Accordian Album June 20, 2008

Daulton’s first Knothole Baseball League season is coming to a close and I thought his coaches deserved a parting thank you gift.  Just imagine trying to teach ten 4&5 year olds the fundamentals of baseball!  Guys don’t usually get into papercraft stuff, but my husband thought these mini albums would be a nice gift.  Both coaches have sons on the team, so they can add their kids’ photos to this keepsake.

Vacation is coming! June 16, 2008

In just 2 weeks the boys and I will be in Nags Head, NC.  This will be their first trip to the beach and Butch has to stay home because of work…what a bummer!  We are going to be staying in a house within walking distance to the beach, so I imagine it’s going to be great.  I’m not looking forward to packing, though.  I not only have to pack clothes for the 3 of us, but I’m bringing some scrap stuff too!  My mom and her friend are scrappers too, so we plan on holding our own “Crop at the Beach”!  The trick is to only bring the essentials, but not to forget anything important.  I have a large pile of new family photos just waiting to be scrapped, so I guess I better get papers and embellishments together.  I have already checked to see if there are scrapbook stores in Nags Head, and, thankfully, there are 2!  I’ll have to be sure to leave some room in my new scrap bag for some NC scrap goodies.  Speaking of my new scrap bag, I just have to share what a good deal I found at Tuesday Morning.  My mom and I bought the last 2 rolling scrap totes for $20!! I’ve seen them advertised for $70 to $100, so I think we got a steal!  In any case, I’ll have to check out Tuesday Morning more often!

Who needs fresh flowers?

Filed under: Projects — BlessedBe @ 2:13 am

I got a Cricut for Christmas this past year and it is awesome!  All of the flowers shown here were cut from the George cartridge.  I made my first arrangements to use as centerpieces for Easter dinner.  I thought they were so cute, I had to make a larger arrangement for my son’s teachers on Teacher Appreciation Day.

Zoo Paperbag Album

I am really into polymer clay right now.  I made the snake accent for the cover of my Zoo Paperbag Album using Sculptey clay.  The tiger embellishments were also made with Sculptey.

Basic Grey Archaic Accordian Album June 14, 2008

Cover of accordian book

I love Basic Grey’s Archaic line.  My oldest son loves dinosaurs, but I really don’t like to use cutsie papers, so this line is perfect.

Yeah, I know it’s corny, but it’s a beautiful day.  Finally a break from the 90 degree temperatures!  This is my first attempt at blogging, so I thought I would introduce myself.  My name is Carrie and I am 32 years old.  I am a mom to 2 awesome little boys and a wife to the greatest husband in the world (really, he is)!  I work part-time outside my home, but I really consider myself to be SAHM.  If you had asked me when I was 20 would I ever be a SAHM, I would’ve looked at you like you were crazy.  It is just amazing what rugrats will do to you.  Oh, how they really change your life!  In good ways, of course!

Papercrafting has become one of my passions over the past few years.  I create scrapbook layouts, mini albums for my friends and family, and try to alter just about anything that will hold Modge Podge.  Right now, I’m really into making my own embellishments out of polymer clay and shrink plastic.

Stay tuned for layouts and project ideas!
